The Chief of the US Forest Service has stated that the agency’s guiding principles are to safely achieve reasonable objectives while enhancing stakeholder support. These match the long-term goals of the Fire Center: to help our partners make safe, efficient, and effective decisions in all aspects of fire. For the past eleven years, the Fire Center has worked closely with all levels of fire managers. We continue to leverage our unique position and capabilities to advance fire management effectiveness through the appropriate application of tools, technologies, and expertise to safely meet both economic and ecological goals in forest management.
